Whether it's you who gets stuck somewhere, or you need to help out a friend, here are a few things to keep nearby and a few essential things to remember.

Roadside Essentials (Keep these in your car)

• Flashlight

• Jumper cables

• Scissor Jack, Tire Iron, Spare tire in good condition

• Tire Gauge

• Blanket

Jumping a Car*

1. Red on Dead

2. Red on Donor

3. Black on Dead

4. Black on Good Ground (Try the strut tower or chassis)

 

Changing a Tire*

1. Emergency Brake on

2. Locate jack, tire iron, and spare tire

3. Loosen lug nuts while on the ground

4. Locate jack point and lift car

5. Remove lug nuts and tire

6. Replace with spare tire

7. Hand tighten lug nuts

8. Lower car and tighten lug nuts again
